“The Pre-Tech Program is a place for anyone who wants or needs help picking a [tech] program.
It's a good program, and you will like it.”

The Pre-Tech Outreach program (PTO) is a unique program to our regional high schools and this technical center. Our Pre-Tech Outreach program has sites throughout the region where students join a 12 person outdoor work crew that participates in community projects and learns soft skills such as accountability, leadership, responsibility, teamwork, critical thinking— to name a few. Students in the program continue to work toward credits they need to complete a successful freshmen and sophomore year. All projects are connected to the community and daily academic lessons.
Each work crew is lead by a crew leader/teacher and a paraeducator.
The Pre Tech Outreach Program offers a work-based curriculum rooted in the land, traditions, and communities of Vermont. The crews work at projects around the county and their communities focusing on such areas as agriculture, horticulture, forest management, construction, trail work and partnering with hunger relief organizations. Students earn credit outside of the traditional classroom while developing the hard and soft skills needed to succeed in the workforce.
See your home school for credits earned within Pre-Tech Outreach.
