The Cosmetology Program is available for students with an interest in
becoming a licensed Cosmetologist upon graduation from high school.
Upon the completion of this two year, 1500 hour program students will be able
to take the State of Vermont Licensing Exam. They are trained in cutting, styling,
pedicures/manicures, facials and color.
Related Academics
Students interested in this program should enroll in anatomy, biology and/or chemistry courses. If a student is interested in owning his/her own business, then courses in accounting, entrepreneurship or business law could also prove to be helpful.
Since this is a two-year program it is essential that students meet as many of the high school requirements as possible during their freshman and sophomore years.
Industry Certification :
Once licensure is obtained graduates from this program are employed throughout the state. For example: Indigo (Burlington), Top Notch (Stowe), JC Penney (state wide), Regis (Berlin), Jan’s Beauty Boutique (Montpelier), and Family Heirloom (Barre).
