During the recent Technical Education Week at the Barre Technical Center three days of events were celebrated by the students, staff, businesses and community members. Over 50 Freshmen were treated to a “Taste of Tech” tours through all of the programs. Career Awareness day welcomed over 20 business and colleges to the BTC campus. The final event was Senior Citizen Day, where over 30 area seniors enjoyed services at no charge including oil changes, hair cuts and sets, manicures, blood pressure checks and computer workshops. The ending event was a delicious lunch served by the Culinary students.

Two of our visiters summed up their experience as follows:

"My wife and I would like you to know how much we enjoyed our visit to the Barre Technical Center Campus for Senior Citizens Day on Wednesday, February 18, 2009.
It was such a pleasure to see the young adults of our community and surrounding area, working together in building their future skills for the world of work. Every student who interacted with us was very professional in their demeanor, polite, helpful, and informed about various school programs.
Please extend our thanks to the students and appreciation to your staff for their hard work and dedication to our kids. "
