During the 2008 holiday season students were asked to use some of the baking skills they learned to complete a gingerbread house. Students made houses using a standard template, which they cut out of rolled gingerbread dough. Students assembled their houses using royal icing. This project took up two class days. During the drying time of the royal icing, students had to come up with a decoration plan. Their decoration plan was executed on the second day of class. Students used a variety of candy, crackers, cookies, and chocolates to take a simple house and turn it into a holiday wonderland.
