About Us

The Barre Technical Center has proudly served students from Washington County since 1969. We welcome students from Cabot High School, Harwood Union High School, Montpelier High School, Spaulding High School, Twinfield Union High School, and Union 32 High School.

The Barre Technical Center will provide a supportive learning environment that encourages everyone to value themselves and others, to attain their highest level of achievement, and to prepare themselves to meet future opportunities.

TEACHING

We believe that it is vital to the success of every student that they have the opportunity to acquire occupational and career, academic, and social skills within their chosen Technical program.

ENVIRONMENT

We believe that a safe, structured and respectful learning environment is the climate most conducive to successful teaching and learning.

LEARNING

We believe that the staff must provide adequate opportunities in academic, technical and life long learning skills; these skills should be provided in such a ways that engage the student in real world activities that are relevant to their career choices.

ACHIEVEMENT

We believe that the best possible student achievement is based on uniformly high expectations, quality instruction, productive student-teacher relationships, and a school that consistently provides a safe, healthy and professional learning environment. Each member of our school is responsible for furthering this standard of conduct.

COMMUNITY

We believe that a dynamic education requires meaningful relationships between peers, sending schools, employers, advisory board members, post-secondary providers and families to ensure that the instructional staff, curriculum and equipment remains innovative, current and incorporates emerging technologies.
